Organizational Values

Mission Statement

The mission of The Learning Knoll is to provide and advocate for quality, program-based early education and care for children. We do this through an educational and supportive environment for children and their families.

Vision Statement

Specifically, our programs ACTIVELY:

  • teach respect for oneself, for others, and for the environment;
  • advocate for the rights of children and their families;
  • recognize and support the needs of the changing American family;
  • provide a blended program that promotes diversity and integrates children of all backgrounds, cultures and languages—with special sensitivity to underserved populations—stressing the ideas of non-violence, cooperation and verbal problem solving.

The Learning Knoll accepts all children and their families regardless of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, sexual orientation, gender, national origin, disability, marital status, veteran status or age.

Our Philosophy

We believe that children learn best when they have a positive self-image and are accepted as they are by both adults and other children. By providing a rich environment, the child is given repeated opportunities to discover, explore and be challenged, thereby fostering independence, self-confidence, self-control, and a sense of responsibility.

We capitalize on the individual strengths of our staff and plan for their professional and personal growth in the fields of early childhood and school age education.

Our methods include an emphasis on low teacher/student ratio, modeling ethical, appropriate behavior and providing a healthy, well-supplied and enriching environment always open and accessible to parents, our partners in success.
